I started making preemie booties and little octopus toys several years ago, and over time, I began adding more — mini blankets, tiny hats, and other comforting touches. As I spoke with families, I realized how meaningful it could be to have something special to hold onto — especially for those facing loss.
That’s when I began making cocoons, which eventually became the Cuddle Cradle.
I know how incredibly hard and overwhelming it can be to hold and say goodbye to a micro preemie in the hospital.
For some families, having something soft and lovingly made — even just to cradle or keep — can bring a small measure of comfort in the middle of heartbreak.
Many of these items are purchased as keepsakes, something tangible to hold and cherish as a reminder of the love that will always remain.
It breaks my heart to know why these items are needed, but I’m continually touched and humbled by the messages I receive from families who say they brought comfort during the most difficult moments.
